Our second day in Portugal we decided to do the city tour since we had no idea where to go or what we should see. So we took our scary trolley trip to the center plaza where we would assume we would find the tour bus...and there it was!
A lot of our trip was industrial scenery like this. Lisbon is a huge fishing town and all the exporting/shipping comes with their shipping community.
The beginnings of a festival with food, music, and decorations
Overall, we weren't extremely impressed with Lisbon. This is probably because we heard AMAZING things about the entire city of Lisbon and how amazing beautiful it was. I think we set our standards too high. But we were still happy we got to see it all so we knew we weren't missing anything.
Afterwards, we took another trip on the train to a different beach city, Estoril. It was pretty similar to Cascais, except we found these tide pools on the beach that were pretty cool .
Portugal's sad excuse for an order of chips and salsa.... :/
The COOLEST bean bag bar we found next to our bus stop! When I get kicked out of nursing school, I just may re-make one of these in San Diego ;)
A few pictures of the GIANT monastery across the street from our hostel. So much detail in all the stone all around the building!
Our dinner for night number two was much more extravagant that our picnic the night before! Lomo (pork loin?) potatoes vegetables, juice and guaranĂ¡! I was extra excited about the guaranĂ¡ because I've only every had in in Brazil and in Provo, Utah!
yay for lisbon! love all your pictures :)
